Sim-Es-HP 40 mg / 250 mg / 500 mg

Indication

Triple therapy kit for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection associated with peptic ulcer disease and chronic gastritis. Contains one day of therapy: 2 esomeprazole capsules, 2 clarithromycin tablets, and 2 tinidazole tablets.

Ingredients

• Esomeprazole 40 mg
• Clarithromycin 250 mg
• Tinidazole 500 mg

Direction

For one day of therapy. Take as directed by the physician. Read enclosed leaflet carefully before use.

Side effects

• Common: nausea
• diarrhea
• abdominal pain
• headache
• metallic taste (tinidazole/clarithromycin).
• Less common: dizziness
• vomiting
• altered taste
• flatulence.
• Clarithromycin: QT prolongation
• hearing disturbances (rare)
• hepatitis (rare).
• Tinidazole: peripheral neuropathy (rare)
• dark
• colored urine.
• Esomeprazole: constipation
• dry mouth
• elevated liver enzymes.

Precautions

• Not recommended in patients hypersensitive to esomeprazole
• clarithromycin
• tinidazole
• or any macrolide antibiotic.
• Clarithromycin contraindicated with QT
• prolonging agents
• ergot alkaloids
• certain statins (simvastatin
• lovastatin)
• and colchicine.
• Tinidazole contraindicated in first trimester of pregnancy and in nursing mothers.
• Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment with tinidazole and for at least 3 days after completion.
• Monitor hepatic function
• clarithromycin and tinidazole may cause liver enzyme elevations.
• Long
• term PPI use associated with hypomagnesaemia and vitamin B12 deficiency.
• Tinidazole may cause peripheral neuropathy with prolonged use
• discontinue if neurological symptoms occur.
• Keep out of reach of children.
