dexacol Chloramphenicol 20mg + Dexamethasone 5mg per 5ml

Indication

Infectious or allergic conjunctivitis, keratitis, dacryocystitis, iritis, prevention of pre and post surgical infections of the eyes.

Ingredients

• Chloramphenicol 20mg/5ml
• Dexamethasone sodium phosphate 5mg/5ml

Direction

Instill 1-2 drops, several times a day. Treatment should not exceed 10 days. As directed by physician.

Side effects

• Transient burning or stinging on instillation.
• Eye irritation or redness.
• Blurred vision (temporary).
• Allergic or hypersensitivity reactions (rare).
• Bone marrow suppression (aplastic anaemia) with systemic absorption — rare but serious
• avoid prolonged use.
• Superinfection with non
• susceptible organisms with prolonged use.

Precautions

• Keep out of reach of children
• Contraindicated in allergy to any ingredient

• newborn infants
• viral or fungal infection of the eyes
• ocular tuberculosis
• glaucoma
