Mekovirax Cream 5 g

Indication

- Herpes labialis (cold sores) on the lips and face - Recurrent herpes simplex skin infections - Genital herpes simplex (initial and recurrent episodes)

Ingredients

• Aciclovir 5% w/w

Direction

Apply a thin layer to the affected area 5 times daily at about 4-hour intervals for 5 days, starting as early as possible. Wash hands before and after use.

Side effects

• Transient burning or stinging at the application site
• Mild dryness or flaking of the skin
• Itching or redness
• Rarely
• contact dermatitis or hypersensitivity

Precautions

• For external use only
• avoid eyes
• mouth and inside the nose
• Not for treatment of herpes in the eyes
• Avoid in known hypersensitivity to aciclovir or valaciclovir
• Use only on the skin and lips
• not on mucous membranes
