Indication
Prevention and treatment of vitamin C deficiency during situations with increased requirement or risk of deficiency
Ingredients
- Ascorbic acid 1 g
Direction
One ampoule per day by intravenous injection. Adults and children above 12: 500-1000 mg daily
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- or stomach discomfort with high IV doses.
- Headache or flushing.
- Kidney stones (oxalate) with very prolonged high
- dose use.
- Diarrhoea at high oral doses.
- Local pain or irritation at injection site.
Precautions
- Hypersensitivity to active substances or excipients
- Nephrolithiasis or history of nephrolithiasis
- Hyperroxaluria
- Severe renal insufficiency or renal failure
- Hemochromatosis
- Individual with sensitivity to sulphur
