CLOXACAP 500 mg

Indication

Treatment of infections caused by penicillinase-producing staphylococci, including skin and soft tissue infections, respiratory tract infections, and bone and joint infections.

Ingredients

• Cloxacillin (as sodium) 500 mg

Direction

Adults: 250–500 mg every 6 hours, or as directed by physician. Take on an empty stomach 30–60 minutes before meals or 2 hours after meals. Swallow capsules whole with a full glass of water.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• or diarrhoea
• Skin rash or urticaria
• Allergic reactions including anaphylaxis in sensitive patients
• Elevated liver enzymes (rare)

Precautions

• Not to be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillin
• Keep out of reach of children
• Store below 25°C

• Complete the full course of treatment
