Indication
Treatment of infections caused by penicillinase-producing staphylococci, including skin and soft tissue infections, respiratory tract infections, and bone and joint infections.
Ingredients
- Cloxacillin (as sodium) 500 mg
Direction
Adults: 250–500 mg every 6 hours, or as directed by physician. Take on an empty stomach 30–60 minutes before meals or 2 hours after meals. Swallow capsules whole with a full glass of water.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- or diarrhoea
- Skin rash or urticaria
- Allergic reactions including anaphylaxis in sensitive patients
- Elevated liver enzymes (rare)
Precautions
- Not to be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillin
- Keep out of reach of children
- Store below 25°C
- protect from light and moisture
- For oral use only
- Prescription only medicine (POM)
- Complete the full course of treatment
