Metoclopramide Injection 10 mg / 2 ml

Indication

Antiemetic; treatment of nausea and vomiting

Ingredients

• Metoclopramide Hydrochloride 10 mg

Direction

Adults: 10-20 mg once; daily dosage not exceeding 0.5 mg/kg. Children under 6: 0.1 mg/kg once. Children 6-14: 2.5-5 mg

Side effects

• Drowsiness and sedation.
• Extrapyramidal symptoms (restlessness
• muscle spasms
• tardive dyskinesia) especially with prolonged use.
• Diarrhoea.
• Hyperprolactinaemia (with chronic use).
• QT interval prolongation at high doses.
• Rare: neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
• Injection site reactions with IM/IV administration.

Precautions

• Halve dosage for patients with dilute renal impairment
