Augmentin 1 g

Indication

Used to treat bacterial infections including community-acquired pneumonia, acute bacterial sinusitis, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections caused by susceptible organisms.

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin 875 mg
• Clavulanic Acid 125 mg

Direction

Adults: one 1g tablet twice daily (Twice Daily Dosing). Take with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Use tablets within 14 days of opening the pack. To be used as directed by your physician.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• Skin rash or urticaria
• Allergic reactions including anaphylaxis in penicillin
• sensitive patients
• Hepatic dysfunction including hepatitis and jaundice (rare)
• Pseudomembranous colitis (rare)

Precautions

• Not for use in patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillins or cephalosporins
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children
• Store in a dry place in original packaging to protect from moisture
• Do not store above 30°C
• Use within 14 days of opening
