NSS Isotonic Sodium Chloride Injection 0.9% / 500 mL

Indication

Fluid and electrolyte replenisher. IV infusion or as physician's order.

Ingredients

• Sodium Chloride 0.9 g / 100 mL

Direction

Administer by IV infusion as directed by physician. Store below 30°C. Discard unused portion.

Side effects

• Hypernatraemia (elevated blood sodium) if administered in excess.
• Fluid overload or oedema with excessive infusion.
• Local irritation
• phlebitis
• or pain at the injection site.
• Hypokalaemia or acid
• base disturbances with large
• volume use.

Precautions

• Keep out of reach of children
• Store below 30°C
• Single dose container
• Check that solution is clear and container is not leaking before use
