D51/2 Dextrose 5% in 1/2 Normal Saline 500 mL

Indication

Fluid, nutrient and electrolyte replenisher. IV infusion or as physician's order.

Ingredients

• Dextrose 5 g / 100 mL
• Sodium Chloride 0.45 g / 100 mL

Direction

Administer by IV infusion as directed by physician. Store below 30°C.

Side effects

• Hyperglycaemia with rapid or excessive infusion.
• Fluid overload
• oedema
• and dilutional hyponatraemia.
• Hypokalaemia with prolonged use.
• Local phlebitis or irritation at the infusion site.

• Non Pyrogenic
