Indication
For the control of the common cold. Also for allergic and vasomotor rhinitis, influenzal catarrh, sinusitis and other related upper respiratory disorders.
Ingredients
- Paracetamol 100 mg per 5 mL
- Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 2.5 mg per 5 mL
- Chlorpheniramine Maleate 0.33 mg per 5 mL
Direction
Orally, 3 or 4 times a day. Infants under 2 years should ask a doctor before use. Children 2 to 6 years: 5 to 10 mL per dose. Children 7 to 12 years: 15 mL per dose. Adults: 30 mL per dose, or as prescribed by a doctor.
Side effects
- Rare pruritic maculopapular rash or urticaria may occur.
- Mild central nervous system stimulation may occur in patients who are hypersensitive to sympathomimetic drugs.
- Sedative effects ranging from slight drowsiness to deep sleep may occur
- though they may diminish after a few days.
Precautions
- Use with caution in patients with hyperthyroidism
- diabetes mellitus
- or ischemic heart disease.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose because liver damage may occur with overdose.
- Stop use at the first appearance of a skin rash or any sign of hypersensitivity and seek medical advice.
- May cause drowsiness
- so caution is advised when driving or performing tasks requiring alertness.
