Decolgen Cold + Flu Syrup for Kids 100 mg / 2.5 mg / 0.33 mg per 5 mL

Indication

For the control of the common cold. Also for allergic and vasomotor rhinitis, influenzal catarrh, sinusitis and other related upper respiratory disorders.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol 100 mg per 5 mL
• Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 2.5 mg per 5 mL
• Chlorpheniramine Maleate 0.33 mg per 5 mL

Direction

Orally, 3 or 4 times a day. Infants under 2 years should ask a doctor before use. Children 2 to 6 years: 5 to 10 mL per dose. Children 7 to 12 years: 15 mL per dose. Adults: 30 mL per dose, or as prescribed by a doctor.

Side effects

• Rare pruritic maculopapular rash or urticaria may occur.
• Mild central nervous system stimulation may occur in patients who are hypersensitive to sympathomimetic drugs.
• Sedative effects ranging from slight drowsiness to deep sleep may occur
• though they may diminish after a few days.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with hyperthyroidism
• diabetes mellitus
• or ischemic heart disease.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose because liver damage may occur with overdose.
• Stop use at the first appearance of a skin rash or any sign of hypersensitivity and seek medical advice.
• May cause drowsiness
• so caution is advised when driving or performing tasks requiring alertness.
