Indication
- Allergic conditions such as rhinitis, conjunctivitis and urticaria - Relief of itching (pruritus) - Prevention of motion sickness - Short-term sedation and aid for insomnia in adults
Ingredients
- Promethazine hydrochloride 5 mg/5 mL (0.1%)
Direction
Take orally as directed; children 2-5 years 5 mL three times daily, adults 10-20 mL up to four to five times daily. Use the lowest effective dose.
Side effects
- Drowsiness
- especially at the start of treatment
- Dizziness
- Dry mouth and blurred vision
- Constipation or urinary retention
Precautions
- Do not use in children under 2 years
- May impair driving or operating machinery due to drowsiness
- Avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants
- Use with caution in asthma
- glaucoma
- urinary retention or prostatic enlargement
