Indication

- Reduction of post-traumatic and post-surgical soft-tissue swelling (oedema) - Resolution of inflammation and haematoma - Adjunct in management of localized inflammatory conditions

Ingredients

• Alpha
• chymotrypsin

Direction

Usually one tablet taken or dissolved sublingually several times daily as directed by a physician, for a limited course.

Side effects

• Allergic or hypersensitivity reactions
• Mild gastrointestinal upset
• Transient changes in stool colour or consistency
• Rarely

Precautions

• Avoid in patients with known hypersensitivity to the enzyme
• Use with caution in patients with severe liver or kidney disease
• Not recommended before eye surgery in patients with vitreous loss risk
• Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed
