Indication

- Respiratory tract infections (e.g. bronchitis, pneumonia) - Ear, nose and throat infections - Urinary tract infections - Skin and soft tissue infections - Part of Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin 500 mg

Direction

Usual adult dose is 250-500 mg every 8 hours, depending on the infection severity. Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve.

Side effects

• Nausea and diarrhoea
• Skin rash
• Vomiting
• Hypersensitivity reactions
• Oral or vaginal thrush (candidiasis)

Precautions

• Do not use in patients allergic to penicillins
• Caution in renal impairment
• May reduce efficacy of oral contraceptives
• Inform the doctor of any history of allergy or asthma
