Indication
- Respiratory tract infections (e.g. bronchitis, pneumonia) - Ear, nose and throat infections - Urinary tract infections - Skin and soft tissue infections - Dental abscess
Ingredients
- Amoxicillin 250 mg
Direction
Usual adult dose is 250-500 mg every 8 hours, depending on the infection severity. Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve.
Side effects
- Nausea and diarrhoea
- Skin rash
- Vomiting
- Hypersensitivity reactions
- Oral or vaginal thrush (candidiasis)
Precautions
- Do not use in patients allergic to penicillins
- Caution in renal impairment
- May reduce efficacy of oral contraceptives
- Inform the doctor of any history of allergy or asthma
