Indication
- Hypertension (high blood pressure) - Angina pectoris - Cardiac arrhythmias - Early management after a heart attack
Ingredients
- Atenolol 50 mg
Direction
Usually one tablet (50 mg) once daily, taken with water, as directed by a physician. Do not stop abruptly.
Side effects
- Tiredness and fatigue
- Cold hands and feet
- Slow heart rate (bradycardia)
- Dizziness
- Gastrointestinal disturbances
Precautions
- Do not stop suddenly to avoid rebound effects
- Use with caution in asthma or COPD
- Use with caution in diabetes (may mask low blood sugar signs)
- Dose adjustment needed in kidney impairment
