Indication
- Treatment of primary hypercholesterolaemia and mixed dyslipidaemia - Reduction of elevated LDL cholesterol and triglycerides - Prevention of cardiovascular events in patients at risk
Ingredients
- Simvastatin 20 mg
Direction
Take one tablet by mouth once daily in the evening, with or without food, as directed by a physician.
Side effects
- Muscle pain or weakness (myopathy
- rarely rhabdomyolysis)
- Elevated liver enzymes
- Headache
- Gastrointestinal upset (constipation
- nausea)
Precautions
- Contraindicated in active liver disease and pregnancy/breastfeeding
- Avoid concurrent strong CYP3A4 inhibitors and grapefruit juice
- Report unexplained muscle pain
- tenderness
- or weakness (myopathy risk)
- Monitor liver function as advised
