B-Aspirin 81 81mg

Indication

Low-dose aspirin (81 mg) is used for antiplatelet therapy to reduce the risk of recurrent myocardial infarction (heart attack), ischaemic stroke, and other cardiovascular events in patients with established cardiovascular disease. Also used to prevent blood clot formation in coronary arteries.

Direction

Adults: One tablet (81 mg) once daily, usually in the evening or as directed by a physician. Swallow with a full glass of water. Enteric-coated tablets should be swallowed whole, not crushed or chewed. Take with food to reduce stomach upset.

Side effects

• Common: gastrointestinal upset
• nausea
• indigestion
• heartburn.
• Common: increased bleeding time
• bruising.
• Uncommon: peptic ulcer
• gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Rare: severe allergic reactions (urticaria
• angioedema
• bronchospasm).
• Rare: tinnitus at higher doses.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with aspirin hypersensitivity or history of aspirin
• induced asthma.
• Contraindicated in active peptic ulcer disease or gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Contraindicated in haemorrhagic stroke.
• Increased risk of bleeding — inform surgeon/dentist before any procedure.
• Avoid use in last trimester of pregnancy.
• Do not give to children and teenagers with viral infections (risk of Reye's syndrome).
• Use with caution with anticoagulants
• other NSAIDs
• or corticosteroids.
• Keep out of reach of children.
