Indication

Used to relieve mild to moderate pain (including headache, dental pain, period pain, backache, and muscular pain), reduce fever, and relieve symptoms of cold and flu. Also used for short-term treatment of inflammation.

Ingredients
  • Ibuprofen
Direction

Adults and children 12 years and over: 400 mg (one tablet) every 4–6 hours as needed. Maximum 1200 mg in 24 hours (unless under medical supervision). Take with or after food to reduce stomach upset.

Side effects
  • Common: nausea
  • dyspepsia
  • gastrointestinal pain
  • diarrhoea.
  • Common: dizziness
  • headache.
  • Uncommon: peptic ulcer
  • gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • Uncommon: fluid retention
  • increased blood pressure.
  • Rare: renal impairment
  • severe allergic reactions (urticaria
  • angioedema
  • bronchospasm).
  • Very rare: serious cardiovascular events
  • Stevens
  • Johnson syndrome.
Precautions
  • Contraindicated if allergic to ibuprofen
  • aspirin
  • or other NSAIDs.
  • Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • Contraindicated in severe renal
  • hepatic
  • or cardiac failure.
  • Contraindicated in the third trimester of pregnancy.
  • Increases risk of cardiovascular events (heart attack
  • stroke) with long
  • term use
  • especially in patients with cardiovascular disease.
  • Use with caution in elderly patients
  • asthmatics
  • and those with kidney problems.
  • Do not use with other NSAIDs
  • anticoagulants
  • or lithium without medical advice.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
