Indication
Used to relieve mild to moderate pain and fever in children, including pain associated with cold, flu, earache, and teething. Also used to relieve symptoms of inflammation.
Ingredients
- Ibuprofen
Direction
Children 6 months–1 year (5–7.6 kg): 2.5 mL (50 mg) 3–4 times daily. Children 1–3 years (7.7–14 kg): 5 mL (100 mg) 3–4 times daily. Children 3–7 years (15–19 kg): 7.5 mL (150 mg) 3–4 times daily. Children 7–10 years (20–29 kg): 10 mL (200 mg) 3–4 times daily. Shake well before use. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours. Do not use with other ibuprofen products.
Side effects
- Common: nausea
- vomiting
- diarrhoea
- abdominal pain.
- Uncommon: rash
- urticaria.
- Rare: gastrointestinal bleeding
- renal impairment.
- Very rare: severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis
- bronchospasm).
Precautions
- Do not use in infants under 3 months or under 5 kg.
- Contraindicated if allergic to ibuprofen
- aspirin
- or other NSAIDs.
- Do not use in children with active peptic ulcer
- gastrointestinal bleeding
- or renal impairment.
- Use with caution in children with asthma — may trigger bronchospasm.
- Do not combine with other NSAIDs.
- Consult a doctor if fever lasts more than 3 days or pain more than 5 days.
- Keep out of reach of children.
