Adipin 10 10 mg

Indication

Used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and stable angina pectoris. A dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that reduces peripheral vascular resistance and lowers blood pressure.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine

Direction

Adults: Starting dose 5 mg once daily; may be increased to 10 mg once daily. Take with or without food at the same time each day.

Side effects

• Very common: peripheral oedema.
• Common: headache
• flushing
• dizziness
• fatigue
• palpitations.
• Uncommon: hypotension.
• Rare: gingival hyperplasia.
• Very rare: severe skin reactions
• hepatitis.

Precautions

• Contraindicated if allergic to amlodipine or other dihydropyridines.
• Caution with severe hepatic impairment.
• Caution with other antihypertensives — additive hypotensive effect.
• Caution with CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g.
• ketoconazole
• ritonavir).
• Keep out of reach of children.
