Size: 14 tablet
Indication
Used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and heart failure (as adjunct therapy). Candesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that reduces vasoconstriction and lowers blood pressure.
Ingredients
- Candesartan Cilexetil
Direction
Adults (hypertension): Starting dose 4 mg (or 8 mg) once daily. Usual maintenance dose 8β32 mg once daily. For heart failure: starting dose 4 mg once daily; target 32 mg. Take with or without food.
Side effects
- Common: dizziness
- headache
- upper respiratory tract infection.
- Common: hyperkalaemia.
- Uncommon: renal impairment
- hypotension.
- Rare: angioedema β seek immediate medical attention.
- Very rare: neutropenia
- agranulocytosis.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in pregnancy.
- Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to candesartan.
- Do not use with aliskiren in patients with diabetes or renal impairment.
- Monitor renal function
- electrolytes
- and blood pressure.
- Risk of hyperkalaemia β caution with potassium supplements or potassium
- sparing diuretics.
- Keep out of reach of children.
