Size: 50 tablet
Indication
Used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and stable angina pectoris. A dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels.
Ingredients
- Amlodipine Besilate
Direction
Adults: 5 mg once daily with or without food. May be increased to 10 mg once daily after 7β14 days if needed.
Side effects
- Very common: peripheral oedema.
- Common: headache
- flushing
- dizziness
- fatigue
- palpitations.
- Uncommon: hypotension.
- Rare: gingival hyperplasia.
- Very rare: severe skin reactions
- hepatitis.
Precautions
- Contraindicated if allergic to amlodipine or other dihydropyridines.
- Caution in severe hepatic impairment.
- Additive hypotensive effect with other antihypertensives.
- Inform doctor of all medications
- especially CYP3A4 inhibitors.
- Keep out of reach of children.
