Allertec-K 10 mg

Indication

Allertec-K (Cetirizine Dihydrochloride 10 mg) is a second-generation antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis (hay fever), allergic conjunctivitis, urticaria (hives), and other allergic skin conditions including pruritus.

Ingredients

• Cetirizine Dihydrochloride

Direction

Adults and children 12 years and over: 10 mg (one tablet) once daily. Children 6–11 years: 5 mg once daily (half tablet). Children 2–5 years: 2.5 mg once daily (consult a doctor). May be taken with or without food. Dose should be reduced in patients with renal impairment.

Side effects

• Drowsiness
• somnolence — common but milder than first
• generation antihistamines.
• Dry mouth
• headache
• dizziness — common.
• Fatigue
• nausea — common.
• Allergic reactions including rash — rare.
• Urinary retention — rare.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to cetirizine
• hydroxyzine
• or any ingredient.
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment — dose adjustment required.
• May cause mild sedation in some patients — use care when driving or operating machinery.
• Avoid alcohol during treatment.
• Use with caution in elderly patients.
• Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Keep out of reach of children.
