Indication

Bioflor 250 Sachet (Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745) is a probiotic yeast in sachet form used to prevent and treat diarrhoea including acute infectious diarrhoea, antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, traveller's diarrhoea, and Clostridioides difficile-associated diarrhoea.

Direction

Adults: 1 sachet (250 mg) 2–4 times daily. Children: 1 sachet 1–2 times daily or as directed by a physician. Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a small amount of cool water, fruit juice, or food. Do not use hot liquids. Continue during antibiotic therapy and for 3–7 days after completion.

Side effects

• Flatulence
• bloating — uncommon.
• Thirst — uncommon.
• Fungaemia in severely immunocompromised patients — very rare.

Precautions

• Use with caution in immunocompromised patients.
• Keep away from antifungal agents.
• Do not use in patients with central venous catheter without medical advice.
• Consult a doctor if diarrhoea persists beyond 2 days or is accompanied by fever or blood.
• Keep out of reach of children.
