Indication

Aspirine UPSA Vitaminée C (Acetylsalicylic Acid 330 mg + Ascorbic Acid 200 mg) effervescent tablets are used for the relief of mild to moderate pain (headache, toothache, muscular pain), fever reduction, and cold and flu symptoms. The vitamin C content may help to mask the bitter taste and provides antioxidant support.

  • Ascorbic Acid
Direction

Adults and adolescents over 15 years: 1–2 effervescent tablets dissolved in a glass of water, every 4–6 hours as needed. Maximum 6 tablets (12 if 2-tablet dose) per 24 hours. Do not use for more than 3 days for fever or 5 days for pain without medical advice.

Side effects
  • Gastrointestinal discomfort
  • nausea
  • dyspepsia — common.
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration — uncommon to rare.
  • Allergic reactions including urticaria and bronchospasm — uncommon.
  • Tinnitus (ringing in ears) at high doses.
  • Reye's syndrome in children under 15 years — rare but serious.
Precautions
  • Do not use in children and adolescents under 15 years (risk of Reye's syndrome).
  • Do not use if allergic to aspirin
  • other NSAIDs
  • or salicylates.
  • Avoid in patients with active peptic ulcer
  • haemophilia
  • or other bleeding disorders.
  • Do not use during the third trimester of pregnancy.
  • Use with caution in asthmatic patients — aspirin may trigger bronchospasm.
  • Avoid with anticoagulants (warfarin)
  • methotrexate
  • or other NSAIDs.
  • High doses of ascorbic acid may cause gastrointestinal discomfort.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
