Children's Tylenol 160 mg/5 ml

Indication

Children's Tylenol (Paracetamol 160 mg/5 ml) is used to relieve mild to moderate pain (headache, toothache, earache, muscular aches) and to reduce fever in children.

Ingredients

Direction

Children 2–3 years (12–15 kg): 5 ml (160 mg) every 4–6 hours. Children 4–5 years (16–21 kg): 7.5 ml every 4–6 hours. Children 6–8 years (22–26 kg): 10 ml every 4–6 hours. Children 9–10 years (27–31 kg): 12.5 ml every 4–6 hours. Children 11 years (32–43 kg): 15 ml every 4–6 hours. Maximum 5 doses in 24 hours. Do not use in children under 2 years without medical advice.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated at recommended doses.
• Allergic reactions including rash — rare.
• Liver toxicity with overdose — serious.
• Nausea
• vomiting — rare at normal doses.

Precautions

• Do not exceed the recommended dose — paracetamol overdose can cause serious liver damage.
• Do not use concurrently with other paracetamol
• containing products.
• Do not use in children with liver disease without medical supervision.
• Do not use for more than 5 days for pain or 3 days for fever without medical advice.
• Consult a doctor if fever persists or symptoms worsen.
• Keep out of reach of children.
