Duran 100mg/5ml

Indication

Duran (Ibuprofen 100 mg/5 ml) suspension is used in children for the relief of mild to moderate pain (headache, toothache, earache, muscular pain), fever reduction, and relief of cold and flu symptoms.

Ingredients

Direction

Children 1–3 years (10–15 kg): 2.5 ml (50 mg) 3 times daily. Children 4–6 years (16–20 kg): 5 ml (100 mg) 3 times daily. Children 7–9 years (21–29 kg): 7.5 ml (150 mg) 3 times daily. Children 10–12 years (30–40 kg): 10 ml (200 mg) 3 times daily. Maximum 3 doses in 24 hours. Dose every 6–8 hours. Take with or after food. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• abdominal pain — common.
• Diarrhoea
• dyspepsia — common.
• Skin rash — uncommon.
• Gastrointestinal bleeding — rare.
• Allergic reactions — rare.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to ibuprofen
• aspirin
• or other NSAIDs.
• Do not use in children under 3 months or under 5 kg without medical advice.
• Use with caution in children with renal impairment
• dehydration
• or asthma.
• Do not use for more than 3 days for fever or 5 days for pain without medical advice.
• Avoid in children with active gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Keep out of reach of children.
