Indication
Candid-V6 (Clotrimazole 100 mg vaginal pessary) is an antifungal used for a 6-day course of treatment of vaginal candidiasis (thrush). It treats fungal infections caused by Candida albicans and other Candida species.
Ingredients
- Clotrimazole
Direction
Insert one pessary (100 mg) high into the vagina at bedtime for 6 consecutive nights, using the applicator provided. Wash hands before and after use. Clotrimazole may damage latex condoms and diaphragms — avoid use or use alternate contraception during treatment.
Side effects
- Local irritation
- burning
- or itching after insertion — uncommon.
- Pelvic discomfort — uncommon.
- Allergic reactions — rare.
Precautions
- For vaginal use only.
- Do not use if allergic to clotrimazole or other imidazole antifungals.
- Confirm diagnosis before treatment.
- Seek medical advice if symptoms do not resolve after treatment or recur.
- Clotrimazole can weaken latex condoms and diaphragms.
