Indication

Dynamogen (Cyproheptadine + L-Lysine + L-Carnitine) is used as an appetite stimulant and nutritional supplement in patients with poor appetite, weight loss, anorexia, and nutritional deficiencies. Cyproheptadine stimulates appetite via antihistamine/antiserotonin effects.

Direction

Adults: As directed by a physician, typically 1 tablet or 5–10 ml syrup 2–3 times daily before meals. Children 2–6 years: 2.5 ml 2–3 times daily. Children 7–14 years: 5 ml 2–3 times daily. Take with or before meals.

Side effects

• Sedation
• drowsiness — very common.
• Dry mouth
• blurred vision — common.
• Weight gain
• increased appetite — common (desired effect).
• Dizziness
• headache — common.
• Gastrointestinal discomfort — uncommon.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to cyproheptadine or antihistamines.
• Causes sedation — do not drive or operate machinery.
• Avoid alcohol during treatment.
• Use with caution in patients with glaucoma
• urinary retention
• or prostatic hypertrophy.
• Do not use with MAO inhibitors.
• Cyproheptadine may cause weight gain — monitor in patients prone to obesity.
• Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Keep out of reach of children.
