Indication
FLUCORT-N is a topical corticosteroid-antibiotic combination used for inflammatory skin conditions complicated or at risk of bacterial infection, including eczema, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, and psoriasis.
Ingredients
- Neomycin Sulfate
- Fluocinolone Acetonide
Direction
Adults and children over 2 years: Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2–3 times daily. Rub in gently. Duration of treatment should not exceed 7 days in children or 14 days in adults without reassessment.
Side effects
- Skin atrophy
- striae
- and telangiectasia with prolonged use.
- Contact sensitisation to neomycin.
- Local burning
- itching
- or dryness.
- Hypopigmentation.
- Rare: systemic corticosteroid effects with extensive or prolonged application.
Precautions
- Do not use on the face
- in skin folds
- or under occlusive dressings for prolonged periods — risk of skin atrophy.
- Contraindicated in primary skin infections (impetigo
- rosacea
- acne vulgaris
- perioral dermatitis) without appropriate antimicrobial treatment.
- Risk of neomycin
- induced contact sensitisation with prolonged use.
- Avoid use near eyes or mucous membranes.
- Not recommended for neonates or infants in large areas.
- Systemic absorption may occur
- especially under occlusion — monitor for HPA axis suppression in children.
- Keep out of reach of children.
