Caverta 100 mg

Indication

Caverta (sildenafil citrate 100 mg) is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in adult men.

Ingredients

Direction

Adults: 50–100 mg taken orally approximately 1 hour before sexual activity. The dose may be reduced to 25 mg or increased to a maximum of 100 mg as needed. Take only once daily. Not for continuous daily use unless prescribed by a physician.

Side effects

• Headache
• flushing
• and nasal congestion.
• Dyspepsia.
• Visual disturbances (blurred vision
• colour tinges).
• Hypotension.
• Priapism (prolonged painful erection — rare but requires immediate medical attention).

Precautions

• Contraindicated with nitrates (e.g. glyceryl trinitrate
• isosorbide mononitrate) or nitric oxide donors — risk of severe hypotension.
• Contraindicated in patients with severe cardiovascular disease
• recent stroke or heart attack
• severe hepatic impairment
• or hypotension.
• Use with caution in patients with anatomical penile deformity or at risk of priapism (sickle cell anaemia
• multiple myeloma
• leukaemia).
• Not recommended for use in women or children.
• Interactions with CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g. erythromycin
• ketoconazole
• ritonavir) — dose adjustment required.
• Keep out of reach of children.
