Indication
Coveram 5 mg/5 mg is a fixed-dose combination antihypertensive used for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on either component alone.
Ingredients
- perindopril arginine
- amlodipine
Direction
Adults: 1 tablet once daily, preferably in the morning before a meal. The dose must be titrated by a physician based on blood pressure response.
Side effects
- Dry persistent cough (ACE inhibitor class effect).
- Headache
- dizziness
- and flushing.
- Peripheral oedema.
- Palpitations.
- Hypotension.
- Rare: angioedema.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to perindopril (or other ACE inhibitors)
- amlodipine
- or history of ACE inhibitor
- induced angioedema.
- Contraindicated during second and third trimester of pregnancy.
- Monitor renal function
- serum potassium
- and blood pressure.
- Risk of hypotension
- especially on first dose.
- Use with caution in renal artery stenosis or severe hepatic impairment.
- Keep out of reach of children.
