BROMALEX 6mg

Indication

Used for the short-term relief of anxiety and tension states, and as an adjunct in the management of anxiety associated with depression.

Ingredients

• Bromazepam

Direction

Adults: 1.5–3 mg (in divided doses) to up to 18 mg daily depending on severity. Usual dose is 6–12 mg per day in divided doses. Elderly: start with lower doses. Duration of treatment should be as short as possible; re-evaluate regularly. Take orally with or without food.

Side effects

• Common: sedation
• drowsiness
• fatigue
• muscle weakness.
• Anterograde amnesia
• confusion (especially in the elderly).
• Dependence and withdrawal symptoms on prolonged use.
• Paradoxical reactions (agitation
• anxiety
• irritability) may occur.
• Rare: blood disorders
• jaundice.

Precautions

• Risk of dependence and withdrawal
• do not stop abruptly.
• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines.
• Contraindicated in acute narrow
• angle glaucoma
• severe respiratory insufficiency
• sleep apnea syndrome.
• Avoid in patients with a history of alcohol or drug abuse.
• Use with extreme caution in the elderly (risk of falls and sedation).
• Avoid driving or operating machinery.
• Avoid concomitant use with alcohol or other CNS depressants.
• Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Keep out of reach of children.
