Gastrium 10mg

Indication

Used to relieve symptoms of nausea, vomiting, bloating, upper abdominal fullness, and regurgitation. Also used to accelerate gastric emptying.

Ingredients

• Domperidone

Direction

Adults and adolescents over 12 years weighing ≥35 kg: 10 mg up to 3 times daily, taken 15–30 minutes before meals. Use the lowest effective dose. Maximum daily dose: 30 mg. Use for the shortest duration necessary.

Side effects

• Common: dry mouth
• headache.
• Rare: QT interval prolongation
• ventricular arrhythmias.
• Rare: elevated prolactin levels (galactorrhea
• gynecomastia).
• Rare: extrapyramidal reactions.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to domperidone.
• Contraindicated with drugs that prolong the QT interval or strong CYP3A4 inhibitors.
• Contraindicated in prolactin
• secreting pituitary tumour.
• Contraindicated when stimulation of gastric motility could be harmful (GI hemorrhage
• obstruction
• perforation).
• Use with caution in renal or hepatic impairment.
• May cause QT prolongation
• use with caution in cardiac patients.
• Keep out of reach of children.
