Indication

Used for the symptomatic relief of nasal and sinus congestion, runny nose, sneezing, and allergic rhinitis associated with the common cold, hay fever, and upper respiratory tract infections.

Ingredients

• Brompheniramine
• Pseudoephedrine

Direction

Adults and children 12 years and over: as directed on the label (typically one dose every 4–6 hours). Children 6–12 years: half the adult dose or as directed by a physician. Do not exceed recommended daily dose. Take with or without food.

Side effects

• Brompheniramine: drowsiness
• dry mouth
• dizziness
• thickening of bronchial secretions.
• Pseudoephedrine: insomnia
• nervousness
• tachycardia
• hypertension.
• Rare: hypersensitivity reactions.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients taking MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping MAO inhibitor therapy.
• Contraindicated in patients with severe hypertension
• severe coronary artery disease
• or hyperthyroidism.
• Use with caution in patients with glaucoma
• benign prostatic hyperplasia
• or diabetes.
• May cause drowsiness
• avoid driving or operating machinery.
• Pseudoephedrine may cause elevated blood pressure and heart rate.
• Avoid in children under 6 years.
• Keep out of reach of children.
