Esozole 40 40 mg

Indication

A proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, peptic ulcer disease (including H. pylori eradication), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Ingredients

• Esomeprazole

Direction

Adults: 20–40 mg once daily, swallowed whole with water, preferably in the morning before a meal. Duration as directed by physician.

Side effects

• Headache.
• Nausea
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain.
• Flatulence.
• Hypomagnesaemia with prolonged use.
• Increased risk of bone fracture with long
• term high
• dose use.

Precautions

• Not for long
• term use without periodic reassessment.
• May mask symptoms of gastric cancer.
• Risk of hypomagnesaemia and C. difficile infection with prolonged use.
• Use with caution in patients with severe liver impairment.
• May reduce absorption of certain medicines.
• Do not crush or chew
• swallow whole.
