Indication
Laroscorbine (Ascorbic Acid 1 g/5 mL injectable solution) is used for the prevention and treatment of Vitamin C deficiency (scurvy) and as an adjuvant in conditions requiring increased Vitamin C intake such as infections, post-operative recovery, and during periods of physical stress.
Ingredients
- Ascorbic acid
Direction
Adults: 1 ampoule (1 g/5 mL) by slow intravenous or intramuscular injection, once daily or as directed by a physician. Dosage and duration should be determined by the treating physician.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- or gastrointestinal discomfort at high doses.
- Pain or burning sensation at injection site.
- Kidney stones (oxalate) with prolonged high
- dose use.
- Diarrhea at very high doses.
- Rare: allergic reactions including rash or flushing.
Precautions
- Not for self
- administration
- must be given by a healthcare professional.
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment or history of kidney stones (risk of oxalate nephrolithiasis).
- High doses may interfere with laboratory tests (blood glucose
- uric acid
- stool occult blood).
- Caution in patients with glucose

- phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency.
- Not recommended during pregnancy unless clearly necessary
- consult a physician.
- Keep out of reach of children.
