Indication

NEO-K (Menadiol sodium diphosphate, Vitamin K4) is used for the prevention and treatment of Vitamin K deficiency, including hypoprothrombinemia due to Vitamin K deficiency, and as an adjunct in management of bleeding disorders associated with reduced clotting factor synthesis.

Ingredients

• Menadiol sodium diphosphate 10 mg

Direction

Adults: 10–40 mg daily orally in divided doses, or as directed by a physician. Dosage should be adjusted based on prothrombin time and clinical response.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting.
• Headache.
• Hemolytic anemia in patients with G6PD deficiency.
• Hypersensitivity reactions (rare).

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with G6PD deficiency (risk of hemolysis).
• Use with caution in neonates and premature infants.
• May interact with oral anticoagulants (warfarin)
• monitor INR/prothrombin time closely.
• Not for use in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
• Keep out of reach of children.
