Vastarel MR 35mg

Indication

Vastarel MR (Trimetazidine dihydrochloride 35 mg modified release) is a metabolic anti-ischemic agent used as an add-on therapy for the symptomatic treatment of stable angina pectoris in adult patients inadequately controlled by or intolerant to first-line anti-anginal therapies.

Ingredients

• Trimetazidine dihydrochloride

Direction

Adults: One tablet (35 mg) twice daily, morning and evening with meals. Tablets should be swallowed whole; do not crush or chew. Elderly patients: dose reduction may be necessary with significant renal impairment.

Side effects

• Dizziness
• headache.
• Nausea
• vomiting
• abdominal pain.
• Rash
• pruritus.
• Parkinson
• like symptoms (tremor
• rigidity)
• gait disorders
• restless legs syndrome — stop treatment if these occur.
• Rare: agranulocytosis
• thrombocytopenia.

Precautions

• Not for use as initial therapy for acute angina attacks.
• Contraindicated in patients with Parkinson's disease or movement disorders.
• Contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 mL/min).
• Dose reduction required in moderate renal impairment.
• Not recommended in pregnancy or during breastfeeding.
• Keep out of reach of children.
