Indication

Mentopas (Methylsalicylate + Ethyleneglycol Monosalicylate) is a topical analgesic patch or plaster used for temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain, including backache, arthritis, sprains, strains, and bruises.

Ingredients

• Methylsalicylate
• Ethyleneglycol Monosalicylate

Direction

Adults: Apply patch to the affected area of clean, dry skin. Leave in place for up to 8–12 hours. Remove and replace as needed. Do not apply more than 3–4 patches per day. Wash hands after handling.

Side effects

• Skin irritation

• Contact dermatitis.
• Rare: systemic salicylate absorption (especially with large areas or prolonged use).

Precautions

• For external use only.
• Do not apply to broken
• irritated
• or inflamed skin.
• Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
• Do not apply near heat sources or tight bandages.
• Caution in patients with known sensitivity to salicylates or aspirin.
• Not recommended for children under 12 years.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use under occlusive dressings.
