Indication
Toraass A (Amlodipine Besilate 5 mg + Losartan Potassium 50 mg) is a fixed-dose combination antihypertensive used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) in adult patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with either agent alone.
Ingredients
- Amlodipine Besilate
- Losartan Potassium
Direction
Adults: One tablet once daily. May be taken with or without food. Dose adjustments should be made by a physician based on blood pressure response.
Side effects
- Peripheral edema
- flushing (amlodipine).
- Dizziness
- hypotension.
- Headache.
- Hyperkalemia (losartan).
- Fatigue.
- Rare: amlodipine
- related excessive hypotension
- losartan
- related angioedema.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to amlodipine or losartan.
- Contraindicated in pregnancy (2nd and 3rd trimester)
- losartan can cause fetal harm.
- Monitor renal function and serum potassium levels regularly.
- Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
- Caution in patients with aortic stenosis.
- Avoid concurrent use with other renin
- angiotensin system (RAS) blockers.
- Avoid with aliskiren in patients with diabetes or renal impairment.
- Keep out of reach of children.
