Indication

Toraass A (Amlodipine Besilate 5 mg + Losartan Potassium 50 mg) is a fixed-dose combination antihypertensive used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) in adult patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with either agent alone.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine Besilate
• Losartan Potassium

Direction

Adults: One tablet once daily. May be taken with or without food. Dose adjustments should be made by a physician based on blood pressure response.

Side effects

• Peripheral edema
• flushing (amlodipine).
• Dizziness
• hypotension.
• Headache.
• Hyperkalemia (losartan).
• Fatigue.
• Rare: amlodipine
• related excessive hypotension
• losartan
• related angioedema.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to amlodipine or losartan.
• Contraindicated in pregnancy (2nd and 3rd trimester)
• losartan can cause fetal harm.
• Monitor renal function and serum potassium levels regularly.
• Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
• Caution in patients with aortic stenosis.
• Avoid concurrent use with other renin
• angiotensin system (RAS) blockers.
• Avoid with aliskiren in patients with diabetes or renal impairment.
• Keep out of reach of children.
