Indication

Levocetirizine dihydrochloride oral solution (0.5 mg/mL) is a third-generation antihistamine used for relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria in infants, children, and adults.

Direction

Children 6 months–5 years: 1.25 mg (2.5 mL) once daily. Children 6–11 years: 2.5 mg (5 mL) once daily. Adults and adolescents 12 years and over: 5 mg (10 mL) once daily, preferably in the evening.

Side effects

• Somnolence.
• Headache.
• Dry mouth.
• Fatigue.
• Nausea.
• Dizziness.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment
• dose reduction required.
• Avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants.
• May cause drowsiness
• exercise caution when driving or operating machinery.
• Not for use in end
• stage renal disease or patients on hemodialysis.
• Keep out of reach of children.
