Indication
Hemorex is a topical preparation used for the relief of symptoms associated with hemorrhoids, including pain, itching, burning, and discomfort. It combines a corticosteroid (hydrocortisone acetate) with a local anaesthetic (benzocaine) and a venotonic (esculoside).
Ingredients
- Hydrocortisone acetate
- Esculoside
- Benzocaine
Direction
Adults: Apply to the affected area (external) 2–3 times daily or after each bowel movement. For rectal use, use applicator as directed. Do not use for longer than 7 days without medical advice.
Side effects
- Local burning or stinging sensation.
- Skin thinning with prolonged use.
- Allergic contact dermatitis (rare).
- Local skin irritation.
Precautions
- Do not use if allergic to benzocaine or other local anaesthetics.
- Do not use on infected areas without antibiotic cover.
- Prolonged use of topical corticosteroids may cause skin thinning — do not exceed recommended duration.
- Consult a physician if symptoms do not improve within 7 days.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not use in children under 12 years without medical advice.
