Orizole 20 20 mg

Indication

Orizole 20 (Omeprazole 20 mg) is a proton pump inhibitor used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, Helicobacter pylori eradication (as part of combination therapy), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It reduces gastric acid secretion by blocking the gastric proton pump.

Direction

Adults: 20 mg once daily, taken 30–60 minutes before a meal. For H. pylori eradication, 20 mg twice daily in combination with antibiotics as directed. Swallow capsule whole; do not crush or chew.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to omeprazole or other proton pump inhibitors.
• May mask symptoms of gastric malignancy
• exclude cancer before starting therapy.
• Long
• term use may reduce magnesium levels and increase risk of bone fractures.
• May reduce absorption of drugs dependent on gastric pH (e.g.
• ketoconazole
• atazanavir).
• Use with caution in severe hepatic impairment.
• Avoid abrupt discontinuation after prolonged use (may cause rebound acid hypersecretion).
• Keep out of reach of children.
