Indication
Methycobal (Mecobalamin 500 mcg) is a form of vitamin B12 used in the treatment of peripheral neuropathy, megaloblastic anaemia, and vitamin B12 deficiency. Mecobalamin is the neurologically active form of vitamin B12 and promotes nerve cell regeneration and myelination.
Ingredients

Direction
Adults: 1 tablet (500 mcg) three times daily, or as directed by a physician. For injection forms, as per medical prescription. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water.
Side effects
- Nausea
- diarrhea
- anorexia (uncommon)
- Rash or hypersensitivity reactions (rare)
- Headache (rare)
Precautions
- Do not use if allergic to mecobalamin or any component of the formulation.
- Prolonged use should be under medical supervision.
- Mecobalamin is not suitable as sole therapy for the neurological complications of vitamin B12 deficiency due to strict vegetarianism without medical evaluation.
- Do not use in patients with Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy without physician guidance.
- Keep out of reach of children.
