Indication
Medgon-O (Dicyclomine HCl 10 mg + Oxetacaine 10 mg + Magaldrate 400 mg + Simethicone 25 mg) is a combination antispasmodic, local anaesthetic, antacid, and antiflatulent. It is used to relieve symptoms of peptic ulcer, gastritis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), hyperacidity, and associated abdominal spasms and pain.
Ingredients
- Dicyclomine Hydrochloride
- Oxetacaine
- Magaldrate
- Simethicone
Direction
Adults: 1–2 tablets or 10–20 mL suspension three to four times daily, 30 minutes before meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Chew tablets before swallowing (if chewable form); shake suspension well before use.
Side effects
- Dry mouth
- blurred vision
- urinary retention (anticholinergic effects)
- Constipation
- Drowsiness
- dizziness
- Nausea
- Tachycardia
Precautions
- Do not use if allergic to any component.
- Contraindicated in glaucoma
- myasthenia gravis
- paralytic ileus
- or urinary retention.
- Dicyclomine may cause drowsiness
- avoid driving or operating machinery.
- Antacid component may impair absorption of other drugs (e.g.
- tetracyclines
- fluoroquinolones
- iron)
- allow 2
- hour separation.
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment.
- Avoid in infants due to risk of dicyclomine
- related respiratory distress.
- Keep out of reach of children.
