Ovipauz-72 1.5 mg

Indication

Ovipauz-72 (Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg) is an emergency contraceptive pill (ECP) used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure. It works primarily by delaying or inhibiting ovulation; it may also affect sperm migration and implantation. It is not effective if pregnancy has already occurred.

Direction

Adults: Take 1 tablet (1.5 mg) as soon as possible within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. The earlier it is taken, the more effective it is. If vomiting occurs within 3 hours, take another tablet.

Side effects

• Headache
• dizziness
• Breast tenderness
• Irregular menstrual bleeding or spotting

Precautions

• Not for regular contraceptive use.
• Does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.
• Use with caution in patients with a history of ectopic pregnancy.
• May alter the next menstrual cycle (earlier or delayed).
• Consult a physician if no menstrual period occurs within 3 weeks of use.
• Consult a physician if taking enzyme
• inducing drugs (e.g.
• rifampicin
• anticonvulsants) as efficacy may be reduced.
• Not for use after 72 hours.
• Keep out of reach of children.
