Oxy-Nase 0.05% w/v

Indication

Oxymetazoline 0.05% nasal spray is a topical nasal decongestant used for the symptomatic relief of nasal congestion due to the common cold, hay fever, sinusitis, and other upper respiratory allergies.

Ingredients

• Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride

Direction

Adults and children 6 years and over: 2–3 sprays into each nostril twice daily (morning and evening). Do not use for more than 3 consecutive days. Children under 6 years: use only under medical supervision.

Side effects

• Transient burning or stinging sensation in the nose.
• Dryness of nasal mucosa.
• Headache
• insomnia
• or palpitations (especially with excessive use).
• Rebound congestion with prolonged use.

Precautions

• Do not use for more than 3 consecutive days
• prolonged use may cause rebound congestion (rhinitis medicamentosa).
• Use with caution in patients with hypertension
• hyperthyroidism
• diabetes mellitus
• cardiovascular disease
• or narrow
• angle glaucoma.
• Avoid concurrent use with MAO inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants.
• Not recommended in children under 6 years without medical advice.
• Keep out of reach of children.
