Indication
Ascorbic acid injection 500 mg/5 mL is used for the treatment and prevention of Vitamin C deficiency (scurvy), as an adjunct in wound healing, and as a parenteral source of Vitamin C when oral administration is not possible.

For intravenous or intramuscular administration only by a healthcare professional. Dose and frequency are determined by clinical indication and physician's instructions.
Side effects
- Pain
- redness
- or swelling at the injection site.
- Nausea or gastrointestinal discomfort.
- High
- dose use: risk of oxalate nephrolithiasis (kidney stones).
- Rarely: haemolysis in patients with G6PD deficiency.
Precautions
- For parenteral use only
- must be administered by a trained healthcare professional.
- Use with caution in patients with oxalate kidney stones or glucose
- 6
- phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency.
- High doses may interfere with certain laboratory tests (e.g.
- blood glucose
- urine glucose).
- Check for incompatibilities before mixing with other injectable medications.
- Keep out of reach of children.
