Indication

Metronidazole gel 1% is a topical antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent used for the treatment of rosacea (inflammatory papules and pustules) and certain anaerobic bacterial skin infections.

Ingredients

Direction

Apply a thin layer to the affected area(s) twice daily (morning and evening) after washing the face. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands before and after application.

Side effects

• Local skin irritation

• or stinging at the application site.
• Dryness
• redness
• or peeling of skin.
• Rarely: allergic contact dermatitis.

Precautions

• For external use only
• avoid contact with eyes
• mouth
• and mucous membranes.
• Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to metronidazole or other nitroimidazoles.
• Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding
• consult a physician.
• Avoid prolonged or extensive use without medical supervision.
• Keep out of reach of children.
